TEGE Annual Exempt Organizations Update and Meeting

Registration is now open for the Tax Exempt/Government Entities annual exempt organizations update and meeting on March 7 – 8, 2024 in Washington DC.  The event is presented by the TEGE Exempt Organizations Council, in cooperation with D.C. Bar Continuing Legal Education and The Greater Washington Society of CPAs.  Here is the agenda.  The Keynote speaker is Robert Malone, IRS Director of Exempt Organizations and Government Entities, who will speak on Thursday, March 7.  After that there will be sessions on campaign intervention, avoiding traps in the public support test, Lobbying, campaign activity and private benefit issues arising in 501(c)(3) relationships with (c)(4)s, (c)(6)s, and 527 organizations.  On Friday, the highlight will be updates from IRS Chief Counsel and Treasury.  There is also a session on state regulation of charities, Circular 230, and donor advised funds.  The event promises to be very informative.
