Top Factors Expected to Influence Nonprofits in 2019

In their article, the Forbes Nonprofit Council discusses what the top three factors they expect to influence nonprofit organizations for the rest of 2019. Albert Reyes from Buckner International believes that the tax code, stock market, and effective altruism will be the biggest influencers for nonprofits in 2019. He believes that the changes in the tax code could affect contribution levels of donors and cause nonprofits to be more conservative in making budgets and planning programs. Steven Moore of M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust thinks that politics, tax reform and election chatter will be the biggest influences. He believes that political activity with drive donations for groups involved in government and political activity and that Congress’ actions regarding tax reform will greatly inform whether making tax deductions available to everyone will be a continued expectation of nonprofits and a motivation for donors at all levels of giving.
