IRS Fails to Hire and Train 87,000 Armed Jackbooted Thugs

This week TIGTA released “Snapshot: The IRS’s Inflation Reduction Act Spending Through June 30, 2023”.  The Report discusses how the Service has spent its $80 billion (later reduced by $1.5 billion) special appropriation so far.  Most tellingly, the Report provides yet another indication of IRS dysfunction and neglect. The Service has failed to hire 87,000 armed and jackbooted thugs as everyone anticipated.  The Service offers no explanation for this outrageous misappropriation of taxpayer dollars.
