New IRS Statistics: Noncash Contributions (2022), Private Foundations (2021), UBIT (2018)
April 10, 2025
Despite the chaos at the IRS – I’ve lost track of how many Acting Commissioners we have had since January 20th – the Statistics of Income division continues to regularly release data, including data relating to the nonprofits. Here is the most recent information:
- Noncash Charitable Contributions (2022): Spreadsheets summarizing individual noncash charitable contributions reported on Form 8283 for tax year 2022 are now available, including data classified by donation type, size of adjusted gross income, donee type, and donor age.
- Private Foundations (2021): Spreadsheets summarizing domestic private foundations data for tax year 2021 are now available, including numbers, income statements, balance sheets, and other selected financial data.
- Unrelated Business Income Tax (2018): Spreadsheets summarizing UBIT returns for tax year 2018 are now available, classified by Internal Revenue Code section, size of gross unrelated business income, size of unrelated business taxable income or deficit, unrelated activity or industrial grouping, and type (corporation or trust) of entity.
